The Tuesday open mike has been a tradition of The Folk Club of Reston-Herndon since May 1985. We have 14 8-minute performance slots available most nights and a wish list that we will go to if there is time. Sign up on the board after 6 PM or so.
Performances run from 7:15 PM until 9:45 PM. Please check the calendar on the event web site http://www.restonherndonfolkclub.com/calendar.html , since there are concerts and special events some Tuesdays. Acoustic music is preferred.
There are 4 microphones and 4 direct inputs to the sound board. We encourage listening during the performance, and have a short intermission at the halfway point.

FARM’S GOT TALENT: POCONOS HEMP FARM HOSTS FIRST EVER OPEN MIC
Music, Comedy, Food + Art Vendors, Bearded Goats At The Hempstead At Mountain Dale Farm
East Stroudsburg, PA
Hempstead at Mountain Dale Farm (Instagram @TheHempsteadPA) sits atop a scenic vista on Gap View Drive in East Stroudsburg. The 45-acre property was formerly a potato farm; now it wields hemp and many varieties of organic fruits and vegetables for a growing community of CSA members. Many projects are in the works there, including bed-and-breakfast style accommodations, “hempcrete” construction and the raising of pigs, goats and chickens. But on Saturday, August 7th from 5-7 PM, the farm will welcome visitors for Farm’s Got Talent – a breezy, outdoor open mic.
Hosted by Jessica Delfino (Instagram + Twitter @JessicaDelfino), a New York City based writer, comedian and musician (and Hempstead CSA member) who purchased a home in the Poconos in 2016 with her husband and young son, the family-friendly mic welcomes all variety of performers. Admission is free. Art and food vendors are welcome, and can contact jessdelfino@gmail.com for more info. FGT is also co-produced by Kate McTernan, a local soap and candle maker, and lifelong resident of East Stroudsburg.
Confirmed performers include PA-based comedic musician Nate Marks (Instagram @NateMarks2) and stand-up comedian Jonathan Ziegel (Instagram @the_real_jz_). DJ Spotify will cultivate the jams you’ll hear pumping between sets.
Bring a blanket, folding chairs, a picnic, granny and the kids, sunscreen and anything else to make your visit more enjoyable. Ample parking and some food will be available. The bearded goats, “ZZ Goat” and rooster “David Crowie” will be “judging the open mic” and posing for selfies. RAINDATE TBA, and will be announced on the farm’s social media.
