High Street Coffee House is returning to IN PERSON events on Friday, April 1, at 7:00 PM in the sanctuary of the Boscawen Congregational Church. Our feature will be the Heather Pierson Duo. Heather will open the evening, followed by 8-10 open mic slots for musicians, poets, and comedians (two or three songs, depending on how many performers sign up.) The feature does a short set at the end, and we usually wrap up by 9:30. Admission is FREE, though a 'virtual' donation basket is passed. Light refreshments will be sold.
PROOF OF VACCINATION WILL BE REQUIRED AT INDOOR EVENTS.
Friday, May 6 will feature Rupert Wates in the sanctuary. On Saturday, June 4, we will move outside to the church park for a 4-7 pm event, featuring Richard Lewis. Saturday afternoon, July 2, will feature Decatur Creek. Hamburgers, hot dogs, and other picnic food will be sold.
Questions? Call 603-520-9196, or to sign up for 'open mic' email Liz at HighStreetCoffeeHouse@gmail.com.
Admission is free but we do accept donations. Our feature performer opens and closes each event, and in between are 8-10 open mic slots (2 songs or 10 minutes). We give preference to performers who sign up ahead of time by emailing highstreetcoffeehouse@gmail.com or call Chris at 603-520-9196 with questions. Our events have featured some of our region's best singer/songwriters doing original songs, as well familiar covers. We've had folk, bluegrass, blues, jazz, and contemporary Christian music, as well as occasional poetry and (clean, our host is a church!)comedy.
Note that we have NO event in July 2024, and our August 2024 event will be outside in the church park on Saturday, Aug. 3 from 4-7 PM. See Facebook or website for details.

Acoustic open mike for all abilities. PA and mikes provided. Bass players - bring your own amp, please. Hand drums welcome. Each performer gets their time slot, typically 15 minutes-crowd dependent, to play. Sit ins are welcome, as long as they're invited by the performer. To be fair to all performers, "CS&N's" are discouraged (Crosby one slot, followed by Crosby and Nash, followed by Crosby and Stills… )
Signups start when the host gets set up, about 15 minutes before the action starts.
The Utterance is a series of open mic events put on by Jeanette and her stages in partnership with Common Grounds Brew & Roastery. This stage is welcome to all acts including, but not limited to: music, poetry, comedy, magic, etc.
The Utterance is an all-ages show, meaning acts that contain cursing and vulgarity are discouraged.
Performers have 5 minutes for their set and are limited to one piece.
