I've been to this open mic several times. The intimacy is wonderful. The host is extremely down to earth and a remarkable guitarist with a great voice. When it gets perfectly crowded, it's my favorite open mic, even more so than the really popular one in Arlington, VA. It's a dive bar atmosphere with a rinky-dink stage. In fact, I think they no longer use the stage. Last time I went, they just put the mic on the floor, which was better. Get there before eight and you don't have to pay a cover of $5 for the band downstairs. I think they advertise starting at 8, but they seem to start at 9. It's a cavernous dive worth exploring if you're from out of town. Have fun singing and playing.
