US and Canadian Open Mikes - by musicians, for musicians

User profile: williams mckinley blackmore

Self-declared Uncontested Champion of his own genre of poetry, Mr. Blackmore remains even at retirement an emerging and unknown talent, content with consistency in publication rejection and slam finishes far from the winner's circle. Having famously pronounced, "Take This Slam and Shove It," he allows himself to fantasize announcing "Upon Being Named Poet Laureate," and concludes the best direction is giving back and providing encouragement and opportunity for others to practice and perform their craft. A resident of Almaden Valley, Mr. Blackmore hopes the event will attract interested participants from a larger circle, in part so he can say, "Welcome to San Jose!"
