This is an open mike for songwriters, only. You won't find guys doing Jim Croce—or any—covers here. Songwriters share their work here. Period. You'll hear stories about how/why they wrote each song, and there's usually an amazing amount of talent on display. Tony Ramey—a Nashville pro with writing credits on 5 gold records—runs the event and can give you valuable feedback if you're open to it. The stage is big and the sound is superb. People really listen. Sign up by going to SixSpringsLive.com, to the Open Mike page, then click the "FREE" button as if you're buying a ticket. You're not. But it puts you on the list to play. Or take your chances and sign the list when you get there. Nobody's rushing you here to set up and get off the stage. Usually you get about four songs to play. If you need a little time to set up, it's okay. Yes, bands have played, but, again, just originals. There's a full bar and a kitchen and the brisket nachos are excellent. Ample parking. A place to store your cases. It's a truly unique OM. Many songwriters drive quite far to attend.
