Winter's Mark started out in Detroit, MI as a solo venture when I (Marc Winter) got sick of bands never working out. But I'm a bass player (of 19 years), and I never thought I could go solo. I was wrong. So I went on to combine elements of Progressive & Hard Rock with that of Indie & Blues all with an acoustic bass, an effects board & a loop pedal. After two years of playing in Detroit I moved to Williston, ND to try & capitalize on the oil boom a bit by becoming a bartender. Unfortunately the music scene there (other than the young kids who blew my mind with their never ending support) is pretty meager. But FORTUNATELY, I met a drummer (Adriel Kinnunen) & we hit it off right off the bat. Jammed one time, clicked instantly & started playing together around March 2014. After countless performances at the open mic I ran & QUITE a few shows for the aforementioned young ones, we ended up going on a tour through MI for a month in October. We were also able to record our four song demo while we were there. I then headed to Greenville, SC in April 2015 to meet up with Adriel in his hometown to continue on our path. Recorded all of my parts to 20 of my songs & left him to work on the rest in his own time. I then moved to Portland in May 2015 where I now call home. After way too many months of silence I opened an Open Mic in SE Portland at The Nest February 2016. It runs EVERY Wednesday from 8-11 (later if the list is long!) Come show me your stuff! You dig it? Lets set up some shows!
I hope you can find the time to listen to a few of the demos:
