- I'm not sure where Barry is coming from, perhaps he's just a bit angry over the fact that this hostess goes out of her way to make certain that everyone gets a shot at the mic, good bad or ugly. This is one of the kindest, most gentle, group of people I have ever seen around others, and I would highly recommend anyone wanting a chance to present their material to be at this venue. Make sure you show up early (we showed up at 6:00 pm and were welcome with open arms). Also, some days on this are going to be very busy with many people vying for the mic, other days not so much so. But, again, this is a supportive and kind group of people and I would highly recommend that anyone wanting a chance to perform give it a shot.

- thanks ZuZu. You guys are the best. GREAT place to hang out, jam along, play, read, recite, hit the tambourine, Beginners to pros, and a 14 year old bass player that can hang with ANYONE. Host is the TOPS. this is what community music is…

This is such a fun venue to play at! The hostess should be commended on how
patient & easy she is to work with. When I was there, there were 15 performers signed up and ready to play and she diligently got everyone up on stage! She played maybe one of her own then proceded to help a physically disabled fellow get set-up to play. I have played at this venue from time to time over the past couple of years and have enjoyed it everytime! Her enthusiasm is contagious in such a way that everyone gets involved with the evening. The food was awesome and there was a great variety of drinks to chose from. I would recommend this place for all types of artists, beginners as well as professionals. Thank you Zuzu Cafe I had a blast!

- I am downright disgusted with this venue. Words cannot express how opposed I am to ever returning to the city block this is on, let alone the café itself. I have given this venue a number of chances, hoping that the hostess was having an off day the few less than satisfactory experiences I've encountered there. The last time I attended the hostess was clearly intoxicated and FAR more concerned with giving herself and her son spotlight than letting the musicians and performers play. I, personally, was bumped out of my slot in lieu of letting her son play a second time. For anyone wishing to simply play an open mic night, avoid this place like the second coming of the Black Plague. If you want to go see a middle aged lush gush over herself and her son, this is the place for you.
