US and Canadian Open Mikes - by musicians, for musicians

Open Mike w/ Silky Dave
Every Tuesday at 8pm
Vinyl Lounge at Gypsy Sally's
3401 K St. NW, 2nd Floor
Washington, DC

Gypsy Sally's, a live music venue in Georgetown, hosts an Open Mic in the Vinyl Lounge every Tuesday from 8pm-12am. This tends to be a singer songwriter oriented night, although cover songs are always welcome. We have a good PA and all mic, cables etc. are provided. The Vinyl Lounge has a small stage, so no room for drum kits, but we do have a djembe, cajon and bongos on site for percussionists. A cocktail kit or snare set up would also be doable.

We also feature dedicated singer songwriter nights, so the Open Mic is a good way to audition for those spots. Let your friends know that we'll be running $3 cans of Beer, $5 rail drinks and house wine 5:30-7pm. Participating musicians get the deal all night! This is a 21 and over event.

Sign up begins on site after 6pm. Your host is the owner, Silky Dave, so please forward any questions you have to me and you can look us up at www.gypsysallys.com. We are located under the Whitehurst Freeway at 3401 K St. NW (K turns into Water St. at Wisconsin Ave.). The entrance to The Vinyl Lounge is in back, so just walk up 34th St. which dead ends in our driveway and you will see the entrance to the left of our garage door.

There is usually plenty of street parking. I think that's it… please get in touch if you have questions or just drop on by… I'm bound to be there.

PS Instrumentalists who are looking to jam should check out the Gypsy Jam on our website. It happens at least twice a month on Tuesdays in our main room at Gypsy Sally’s.
