It'd been a LONG time since I'd set foot into the Venice - definitely my loss. Still a favourite - great night, great host, great audience, great performers - and a fantastic room. The list seems to go out whenever (I called in at around 6pm but when I arrived just before 9 we were the only ones on it… at 9.15 though it was packed). Be aware that it's a cash bar (ATM on the grounds though) and if you've got any mobility issues, the bathrooms (or "shitters") are down a narrow, long flight of stairs. That being said - I Love this place, and the host, Miles Long - is a LOT of fun.

One of my favourite open mics - certainly one of my favourites in the Saint Louis area. We've played this venue a number of times but last night was my first time hitting up the open mic. A good packed night with a decently varied list (500+ open mics played, but this was the first time I'd ever seen a hammered dulcimer and a tenor bazouki at an open mic). The host was friendly and the bar itself is just a great place to be. Certainly the venue is one of the most beautiful in the country and I highly recommend going there to stare at the walls if nothing else. I hear over the warmer months they even have the music outside, so I'll be looking to return.
