The open mic is no longer hosted by Jessica Ryan and Tom Hamilton. It is now hosted by me (Rich Adams). Time and location is still correct. The leaning is now toward acoustic and traditional music with wiggle room. Sets are limited to three songs, rotating through the roster until all have had a turn, then additional short sets are allowed.

I confirmed by phone Oct 5 2011 that this mike is still open for music, comedy, whatever.

The two times I went several months ago all the other performers were rock musicians who had very long sets

They were still getting set up at 8:30, and didn't perform until nearly 9, so I wouldn't recommend going at 7:30.

I was the only comedy performer The other performers took a smoke break when I stood up, and their friends left, so I had an audience of 4 or 5. One had been overserved and wandered in from the bar to see what was happening.

The place is set up so bar patrons can't watch the show very well, but performers and bar can hear each other.

Definitely a tough house, but I'd go again if I felt strong enough - I just wouldn't go at 7:30, nor would I politely sit through music if I didn't enjoy it.
