more recently, the Space's open mic seems to be dying out, which is sad to see. Fortunately the owner, Steve Rodgers, has some plans to revitalize it so expect some changes over the next few months (and call before showing up). The showcase slot is still coveted by VERY talented musicians from all up and down the east coast as the Space is so conveniently located smack dab in the middle of 95's passage through CT. $5 cover.

Great venue, great place - good regulars and good staff. Show up at 7pm to sign-up, and the prime slots go swiftly. You generally have a feature in the middle of the night paid by a pass-the-hat session. Great sound system, good lighting. Definitely one of the few open mics that really make you feel like you're stepping on to a Stage rather than into the corner of a room or to the least populated part of a bar… listening audience. A consignment shop upstairs also sells strings and local music, and snacks and teas are available downstairs. 2 song / 10 minute sets. CD of your performance for $10.
