Don't know why the last comment is so harsh. If it's not your scene, why bother to criticize it?

Suffice to say, Pete Henderson runs one of the best blues jams in Eastern MA--he's been at it more than 25 years--and blues musicians know what a gem of a weekly event it is. Check out some of the positive publicity he's been getting lately in the local press for his hard work!

Testosterone, football, booze and blues… what else could a girl ask for? I don't really have a musical ear but to me, every song sounded the same, only worse.

This is absolutely the best blues jam around! More seasoned jammers. No egos. Pete Henderson plays no favorites. Simply introduce yourself between sets. Great house band.

Love going there and seeing all the other harp players. A real good jam, run professionally by Pete Henderson. He does not have a sign-up sheet but he knows when you came in and doesn't mess around. A real good honest Blues Jam. Love playing harp there.

For all musicians, particularly harp & sax players, this is a great blues jam. Pete does a good job warming the crowd up with a fine house band and then hand selects jam bands to follow. To keep things consistent, Pete will get up and sing a few between jam bands, so players often times get a chance to play with a pseudo-house house band. Nice.

There's a mic and an amp for harmonica players, and it's mic'd into the PA. So, leave your amp at home, but you may want to bring your own mic.

There's no piano (unlike the Acton Jazz Cafe on Thursdays), so if you play keyboards, you'll have to drag 'em along.

The music style is more electified country blues, jump blues, etc… more uptempo. This jam is pretty much the opposite of the Chicken Bone - more authentic blues music and very few show-off guitar players.

Huge bonus - there's a huge TV in the back so you can watch the Patriots whup up on this week's victim while you listen to some pretty fine 12-bar.
