? Do the songs have to be completly instrumental. Also, is there an age that the musicians have to be?

Every Saturday, The Threepenny Opry hosts regional acoustic folk, blues, bluegrass and singer/songwriters in an intimate, smoke-free, family-friendly, listening-room setting. The "concerts" are followed by an open song-swap. Any traveling or visiting musicians who'd like to become part of the fesivities can either show up unannounced or call Robert Wagner at 412-916-6233 to get a spot on the schedule. The Threepenny Opry was founded when the owner of The Starlite Lounge, Ron "Moondog" Esser, said, "I can't believe there are all these musicians with no place to play, and I have a room sitting empty on a Saturday night. You'd think we could get people together to at least have some fun and not lose our shirts in the process." The Starlite has great food. Sometimes the place is packed, sometimes dead, but if you play at The Starlite, you can attend the show at Moondogs (legendary blues club two doors down) for free. The series is sponsored by Calliope, The Pittsburgh Folk Music Society.
