I did this open mic last night. It has a nice cozy atmosphere and the locals are friendly. There were lots of great talent at this event.

This is a book store/record store/cafe. The sound is sufficient for the venue and they even record the performances. You can come back a week later to pick up a burned copy of your performance on CD for $5.

Be warned the the Skylight Exchange is literally a hole in the wall. I had to call while driving down the street to find it. Your best bet is to park at Tate Reality. Then walk across the street and look for a very very small alley to walk to the entrance. This place is very hidden but well worth finding.
