- Shaw's is not a place for rising blues stars. Do not be fooled, they just want to make money from the liquor. The old dogs there will laugh at you if you are young. Not to mention the old dogs have a fraction of talent.

- 3-4 songs? they let me, "THE NEW GUY" up for 1. very clicky. they seam to be the same people every week. so dont expect much playing time. unless you play something nobody else does.

- how educational it is * * each of those three muffed electric guitar bar chords sound ever so fascinating * the typical twin cities "pro blues musician" is equally entertained when gazing for hours into a blank T.V. screen * * admission should be charged * * for it is indeed a jaw dropping experience *

Virtuoso (9/2009)
- Best Blues Jam in town… best players around.

- Not so much an open mic, this is a very happening blues jam with a lot of proficient (and friendly)players. It is well organized, expect to jam on 3-4 tunes. A couple of original songs are performed but the majority of tunes are well-known (i.e. jammable). Young performers welcomed (three under-10s there last night).
