wow! we loved this little joint! we had fun and the time flew by as we watched a crazy assortment of open mic-ers take the stage. there were poets, musicians, and even a comedian… of sorts. some guy event showed up and was blowing fire out front. kimmy v is a fun and friendly host. she helped us feel welcome and even loaned me a 9 volt battery and a pic. the courtyard is nice because the bar was kind of smoky. we're glad we found the place, and we'll be back fellow musicians in tow.

This is a very welcoming but rambunctious open mic. Music starts at around 9.30pm after a set from the talented Kimmy V. The sound is a bit rough but the crowd is supportive. Beautiful bar with a Lovely courtyard for when you need a break from the noise. Slots can go from 15 minutes to half an hour depending on the night and the crowd's response. Sign up is on that white board that sort of magically appears at some point in the night. Known as the "drunkest bar in St Louis" - this probably has no small effect on both the rambunctiousness and support of the audience, but it means that anyone who wants to sit in with you may do so with a dubious sense of rhythm and musicality. But everyone WILL enjoy it! Theresa, the owner, is sometimes there and has been known to book acts based on their open mic performance.

Kimmy's open mike is a ton of fun. Well attended and lots of musicians!!! A mainstay of the St. Louis music scene.

Found this place traveling around the midwest on an open mic road show. The room was cozy and friendly. There were a variety of artists/musicians, with a variety of skill levels. A few combined ensembles too. There was one poet… with a guitar picking out notes behind him. KimmyV was a gracious host. She had a funny little duo with her friend Nicci: they called themselves the "east end girls"… some "hot tub divas" to behold. I'll go back next time I pass through ol' STL!
