This place is very popular with wannabes & "hipster" performers. The performance matters more then the song. They're so popular that they don't have to be nice to anyone… and aren't. LOTS of politics. The sound system is great, but there's absolutely no discipline imposed… you may get a decent time slot (see below for the lottery procedures, it still works that wa) but the later the slot, the later you'll be delayed. (I got a 10 pm slot & didn't get on stage until 11:15.) It's a good one-time experience, but I'm done wasting my time with this place.

Terrible place to play! Bunch of hacks and wannabe songwriters. If you have integrity in your art, steer clear!

Hosted by Oz; he's more then a bit ADHD. The sound system is great. Good sound guy working the board. If you're gonna use the house band, get 'em early before they get bored. Get there early to sign up. If you don't make this week, you get priority next week. Good for rockin' performers… Slow gentle music doesn't cut it. You play to the other performers… Not much outside crowd.

This is THE place to play in the Austin area. Everyone is accepted and welcome. Watch out for Jess Saddington!! She is a real talent threat. The open mic goes and goes. Its all good and friendly. Great sound system! Sign ups 8:30pm sharp. Music at 9pm.
