what kind of open mike is this?

Natasha, You'll find our Open Mic to be family-friendly, with performers ranging from 5-85 and of various genres, but mostly folk, classic rock, country, pop, alternative, blues, rock, and from covers to originals. Acts range from solo performers to full bands. We've got a 2-Bose L1 PA set up, 4 mics, keybd & drumset. Typically each act does 2 songs, total of 10min max stage time. Once in a while, it's a one song night, if more than 23 acts sign up. We draw a wonderful listening audience and our community is very supportive and respectful. Admission is $3 which helps support our scholarship fund to provide music lessons for needy students.

i saw that u have a drum kit. are we allowed to use it with just like brushes? and also, me and my fellow bandmate do not own acoustic guitars. cud we just plug in my bass and his electric and use the clean sound from the bose dpeakers?

Hi Matt, we've got woodwhackers to use at the drumkit. Reg sticks get a little loud for the room, but you can use them if you're conscious of volume control. The electrics are fine, we've got direct boxes.

On April 21st Mike Delaney "It's always about me", and Ken Porter "It's always about him", will be the feature for this terrific Open Mic. Come on down (or up or whatever.)

The March 24, 2011 Open Mic will feature the band, 2nd Tyme Around, Dedicated to Playin' Original Music- written by band member John Arruda, "… for the PURE REWARD of making it sound as GREAT as it can possibly be!"
