Well, thanks for the kind words Barry. Kudos to Al & Rena for having this jam for 17 years! I'm sure it's changed from time to time and has great nights and some OK nights (even if quiet still a good time is had) but this jam is still going and it's a great place to hang. Rob Fraser and myself have taken the jam over from Don, a fine guitarist he is, and as far as the comments below, it's more of an open Blues 'n Rock jam with material ranging from Howlin' Wolf to Neil Young. Rob and myself always give everyone a chance and relinquish the stage to the jammers often through the night. Nicci's cheese-steak sandwiches will rock your world among other good eats she whips up behind the bar. I'm sure i wont be hosting the jam 17 years from now and many have come and gone but i'm sure this jam will be cruising right along for years to come! Thank you all for attending and Thanks to Al & Rena for letting us host the jam! Y'all come out!

This place rocks! People are up dancing, and the entertainment is non stop terrific. Lead guitar Todd Wolfe delivers a rocking vocal and guitar performance effectively backed by Mike on drums, and the cool rhythm of Rob on bass. Maria sat in with a series of golden throated sultry blues numbers, followed by Jeff Zlotnick who got down with an exchange of lead guitar parts with Todd and a raspy energized series of blues numbers. I had the honor of being acompanied by the house band, Todd, Mike, and Rob. They got right behind me and we rocked out with three numbers, none of which they had played before. These guys in addition to being great lead performers, have the flexibility to get under a new performer.

I didn't get her name, but all the performances were amplified by a pretty youg lady with a little tamborine and some nice stage dancing. And I couldn't forget about Mary Hawkins -what a narural stage presence! Great singing, and the dancing with it and reaching out to the audience - this one is seriously hot!

If you play or sing bluesy or basic rock, do this open mic. You'll have a good time. Come for the entertainment, the place is definitely rockin'.

Don Mayer runs the best jam around. The sound is amazing!

Not really an "open mic" you get to sit-in and Jam with the House band (Don Mayer et all). Electric & Jazz, not for folk types. Small front room, they provide PA, drums, guitar amps.

Discover New Frontiers?… Sounds more like well practiced 70's "chord jazz" and "self-indulgent" blues. Very good but not what I call an open mike
