Hey. Do you have to call ahead to be put on a list or do you randomly show up and pull your name out of a hat? How does the line up work? And is original music accepted?

Good open mike. You get to play 2 songs, but you have to watch your time. If the songs run too long, then they might cut you off by turning up the house music. Since the host is a folk performer, it dominated (as in many places) by folk artists. Hardly anyone plays rock, progressive, acoustic metal, etc. If you do, you might stand out like 5-leaf clover, and feel as if you don't fit in. However, most people are supportive. On a good night, there is great balance between the folk, blues, rock, progressive, jazz, etc. But it's not always the case. And people tend to talk in the front of the café.
