Good Open Mic with a twist, live karaoke. I played backup for a singer/friend, then played some tunes and sang myself. The monthly song challenges are fun. Great crowd.

Stolie (1/2007): Great Open Mic! There is an excellent host and a really fun crowd. I loved it an I will certainly be back.
T-Why (8/2006): been here a couple times. Pretty good traffic w/ some repeat players from what I could tell. The host is talented, down to earth and encouraging. I've heard only acoustic guitar/voice songs so far, except for a dude who comes to play snare/hi-hat behind the featured performers. Pretty decent talent w/ zero attitude from the players I've seen. I'd recommend it.
miles maxwell (6/2006): Tuesday night acoustic open mike hosted by Chicago songwriter STOLIE. Two microphones, house guitar and cables available. Guests usually play 3-4 songs to start, and sometimes we have time for you to get up again if you stick around long enough. Later in the evening, singers are welcome to sing to cover songs I know how to play (live karaoke, kind of). Brian, the bartender, loves Johnny Cash and Sublime. 21+. $3 pint specials. Cheap and tasty bar menu, kitchen open till 11pm. Cig machine, Bowling video game.
