An update on the Tampa Friday Night Open Mic @ NOLA. After 5 months of operation the Tampa Friday Night Mic has proven to be a phenomenal success with the support of poets and musicians throughout the Tampa Bay Area. These supporters are a unique blend of the avant-garde, off the wall, and just plain simple folks who love and respect the vast spectrum of the Art of Expression through Words and Music. We have had many performers come from various parts of Florida along with others from out of state stopping in for what has become truly a great open mic. Tampa Friday Night Open Mic is getting stronger and more popular with great performances and a wide variety of expression. We are seeing on a regular basis full house crowds. Along with our outsiders that cover the front entrance and listen through our outdoor sound system, thanks to all. Why are these people are going? THEY HAVE A GOOD TIME! Our Halloween party was an amusing success, with all performers in costume. The after party went on till ? ? I heard nobody goes to the Friday Night Open Mic anymore because it's too crowded! Hope to see many of you in the coming weeks. Plenty of room and plenty of parking and plenty of fun and plenty of great people and plenty of talent and plenty of great food well that's enough. Namaste papos

Thank You, Papos, and Stone, and the Nawlins owner of NOLA Café for this great Open Mic. Thanks for letting me sing to backing tracks on my iPhone. The musician on those tracks is a life-long Nawlins resident until Katrina destroyed his home, and he relocated to the Washington DC suburb of Sprinfield, Virginia. His name is Terry Lee Ryan -- a great keyboard player, guitarist, and singer. The tracks I sang to were specifically recorded for me. I enjoyed hearing Papos sing and play, and all the other musicians and poets. Ron Kert from Davis Island.
