mr spts is a sorry excuse for an open mic. If your poetry is anything but happy… they might kick you out.

Totally disturbing in every way, shape, form… If you are talented, go to Sunday night open mic at Conor Byrne in Ballard… the Mainstage on lower Queen Anne is great on Tuesdays too. Mr. Spots is just awful, really. The hosts play favorites with alternating street kids who couldn't tune a guitar if their lives depended on it.

Even if they did ask you to (which they never will)… why ever return? Save Ballard from Itself… ? Good luck!

this place sucked, the open mic hosts kept giving themselves more and more time, pushing everyone else back. I was told I would be next but after the current act the host told me he was going in front of me. everyone under 21 has to leave by 10. come early, sign up first and leave

I went last week. Great mood. Great mix of spoken word, music, and performance. Really supportive group and a great dinner. The Veggie Burgers are most excellent. If you write, act, play sounds, or just perform. This is an excellent space to try out your stuff.
