Will you be hosting Open Mike during the Holiday Break? I have a college student always looking for more acoustic open mike opportunities,
Liz (11/2009) Yes we will still have the open mic Brian Mackey (12/2009): This venue is Minnesota's premier club with a big stage, lights, great PA system and a lot of history hosting top name rock and blues bands, but on Monday’s its all acoustic. If you want to know what it's like to be a on a big stage with great sound and lights, this is the place. Although the clubs reputation is for full bands, on Mondays it's open for this great opportunity to perform acoustically. If you play bass it’s open to electric (bring your own amp for that)! All levels of talent are welcome. Mary Elias is a wonderful host and very supportive. If you just want to sit-in and play along with other musicians that's cool too. Just bring your instruments (voice, guitar, bass, drums, harmonica, sax, trumpet, etc.) and have fun. If you have an acoustic based band, duo, trio, etc., arrive early to get set-up ahead of time. Some past performers have never met before and got up to jam together and made magical music. This is a great way to meet other like minded musicians and find out what is happening on the acoustic side of music in the Twin Cities. The club also offers reasonably priced food and an outside deck for smokers. I suggest you arrive early to sign up. // Sign up at 8:30pm
