This is one of the best open mics I have ever attended. People are all polite and supportive,laid back vibe,and I like the café it's held in. It's worth checking out as a performer and/or spectator.It's not the place for profanity or adult themed material as there is families and some performers under the age of 18.I cant wait to go back when I'm back in Ma.

Thanks to all that have supported this wonderful open mic, we had 26 players a couple weeks back and this series is still red-hot, as it should be when you have talented players, a very appreciative audience and attentive staff. I'm coming up on the 2nd anniv. of the Tue series! One issue with an event this well attended is the list fills up quickly and after a certain number of sign ups we have to go to one song per player to try and get everyone in. There are diehards who show up before the 6:30 sign up and make note of who came in when and put their names in accordingly when Lyle, the "list" guy shows up. That's why by 6:45 the list can be almost full. Obviously the club is most interested in folks who will come for dinner, drinks and stay and support the other players for the duration, that's how you keep an open mic strong. The e-mail sign up didn't work because some folks would come in just for their slot and then leave and some wouldn't show up at all. Any players who find this one too crowded should check out my Monday at Smoken Joes in Brighton and my Wed. at Firefly's in Framingham, you'll always get a slot at those. I did open mic here last week aug 22 or so,people very nice,very supportive.I did spoken word short story,not the most appropriate open mic for spoken word,however,Bruce and Al were supportive,crowd was very nice,I've been in some "rough" rooms,this place was far from that,just nice people in a great atmosphere.Will go again when visiting Ma.
