- If this open mic is still going, don't bother wasting your time entering the contest. When they select the contestants to compete in the finals, the hosts choose the winners themselves at the end of the regular tuesday open mic play nights. However, you are judged by audience response in the finals. Ofcourse more info is posted now, but back in the day it wasn't like that. I competed in the first contest a while back and the most uninspiring musician in the room ended up winning 1st place just because he brought a shitload of his friends and family to cheer for him. On top of that, they didn't even tell us until the night of the finals that the first place prize would be split up and you wouldn't win the full prize anyway. If you're just looking for a new place to play, then it's not a bad atmosphere. Just be advised that the competition is very suspect. If you are chosen to enter the contest and you absolutely suck, don't worry, as long as you bring and army of people to cheer for you in the finals… you're good.

$500.00 - $750.00 Cash Prizes!!! Open Mic Contest at Litsa Lounge!!! Sign up now!!! Starts Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007 at 8:00pm. Sign up until January 30th!! The Winners are judged from judges and audience repsonse. All Winners from each week will compete in the final week on Saturday (Saturdays are Jam packed at Litsa Lounge) for the cash. Players and Singers are asked to prepare three songs for performance; Each act may include up to 4 performers. Email or Call Troy @ 708-813-0203 to reserve a spot. Hurry time slots will fill quickly.
This is the 2nd Open Mic Contest at Litsa Lounge!!! Thank you to all musicians who participated in the 1st Open Mic Contest!!! This was an excellent competition!!! We Ended up with 29 total contestants and Three Winners. Congratulations to 1st Place Paul Andler $300.00, 2nd Place Dave Burke $150.00, and 3rd Place JOEY $50.00!!!
