Is poetry, open-mic, considered for the Monday evening venue? I am quite interested and have had some work passed around town in the past 5 years. Also, is this still a on-going event? Looking forward to your response. Thanks a bunch!
Katie Davis-Steward (10/2008): highly recommended. the music, crowd, host, atmosphere was an all around great experience.
k (8/2007): Good crowd, there is a drawing when you sign up. Usually a 50/50 chance to play. You get 10-12 minutes to do whatever. Pretty good music and a few good comics. Not bad at all. I recommend.
jason (2/2006): A drawing is held at 6:30pm. You must be there to be signed up. First drawn gets choice of ten-minute slots 7:30-11:00. There are usually more entrants than slots. The scheduling is semi-open with some slots reserved ahead of time for special guests who do regular gigs at Lestats. Those with reserved slots often take more than ten minutes and the program can fall behind as the evening progresses. I last attended July 26 and the 10:00 act was going up at 10:30. Isaac is the long-time host.
