Hi, wanted to know how big the place is and if its possible to have singer, guitarist and drummer there.
Thank you, hope to hear from you
Tigran (7/2008)
Do they have an acoustic guitar, or do you have to bring your own?
Neil (10/2007)- this place sucks i went there to perform and the people there were not welcoming we play frank zappa to john coltrane and they didnt welcome us. were do we go if we cant play in a hippie joint= they should turn that place into a library it already is.
svj (7/2007)- Well… to put it mildly, this is what the world is missing for all of you old school fans out there: its eclectic, warm, and totally for those who enjoy having a wide variety of music in one sitting. Don't forget to donate when you go, because there is no cover charge. It is also an organic and earthy environment that allows one to feel at home, and relaxed , and open , with little effort. So go already!
Avery Jacobs (7/2007)- This open mic has a great concept to broadcast acts onto the internet in front of a national and international audience. The down fall to this open mic is that it is mainly for acoustic artist. So anyone who want to just sing and has a track it is rather difficult to perform. The atmosphere is very hippy very 60's but I must say you have some great people there but you still have the hollywood types there too disguised as hippies. They want to make it seem laid back and different and on the surface it is but the first time i was there I heard two of the regulars being everything but welcoming and discussing the acts in a negative way and looking down upon the fact I was not an acoustic artist. Which i guess you will find that everywhere. All and all if you are an acoustic artist I feel you should diffently attend and have your family and friends abroad watch you and support. It is great exposure. There is no cover and no min. Get there earlier because parking can be a pain. Oh yes one more thing, if you travel a distance there is no guarantee that you will perform. They pull your name out of a bucket and if you do not get pulled on your second time of coming to the open mic Kiki has a simpanthy list which will guarantee you a spot for next week. And now there is one guarantee spot for the people who have traveled the furthest. They do work off of donations so if you can then do. Now I am done.
