Comedy is always welcome. This past Friday, we had 3 stand-up comedy acts, and all 3 were funny! Typically, I intersperse the comedy acts between musical acts so that nobody deels intimidated by another. The crowd is typically warm and encouraging, and the musical acts stoke the crowd. It is a cabaret style setting (as opposed to an auditorium style) where people are drinking. There will likely be people sitting and watching your act as well as people wrapt up in their own socializing and conversations, especially toward the back of the room at the bar. Most performers accompany themselves with either a guitar or a keyboard, but some bring an accompanist and some sing a capela… However, there are usually a dozen performers or so and most are willing to play behind you if they know the song. Many have lyric books and if you like, you can read through their books of songs and come up with one you both want to do. Come on down and check it out!

Most performances are welcome; bear in mind that this is a winery which serves beer and wine in an intimate gathering. Good taste prevails.
Our Open Mic has been the subject of a featured article in Newsday. We have been fortunate enough to attract very talented performers and it is always a good time!
I am a professional audio engineer and I provide a professional setup. My formula is simple:
-If the sound is good, I will attract better acts
-If I attract better acts, I'll get a bigger crowd
-If I get a bigger crowd, they will sell more wine
-If they sell more wine, they will continue to provide a venue where we can indulge in our performance obsession.
Simple!
