I was wondering do anyone there have an interest in hiphop/r&b? Because thats the type of music I have
Robert Hill (11/2008)- Was there last night. Not a whole lot of people in line to play (good). The drinking crowd showed up after 10:30. Lilly, the host, is very nice and welcoming. Don't expect a super PA. Good place to bring your drum machine and play guitar to it, since there is a lot of noise from the pool table players and the loud drinkers. The audience listened and responded, which is a good sign!

- The open mike starts AFTER 10 pm. I left at 10:30 and it was still not going on. Bartender not very nice when I asked her about it. She said the lady running it hadn't come in yet (at 9, I know it starts at 10).

It's a great open mic if you like playing to a full on pool game going on less than two feet away from you (the conversation is loud and the smokers are a'smokin'), a less than decent sound system and a TV on over the bar.
I know it sounds like I'm being an ass but seriously, I think these are great places to practice. I wouldn't do it every week but I would do it to practice patience, staying focused and centered and troubleshooting every now and again. It will prepare for anything you could face at a real gig. And after 3 songs… it's OVER!

- Previous comments are not false, but its very friendly, pretty drunk, and alot better if you know the crowd some-more like a party at a friends house-not so cool if your a stranger maybe.
