One other comment: The Hilltop (a GREAT bar) is in Spicewood, about 25 miles outside of Austin… and WELL worth the trip!
Jersey Boy (1/2008): Poodie Locke is Willie's road manager and owns the place.
Bob (1/2007) Actually, Poodie is Willie's stage manager… I was at the open mic there in November and it was simply amazing. Jersey Boy :-) (1/2008): Better known as "Poodie's". This bar is owned by someone associated with Willie Nelson's organization. I heard some truly excellent songs and singers the night I attended. The long-time host is a bartender at Poodies, his first song was about how he prefers ass kickers to ass kissers. 11/15/2006 was a slow night, I got to do 8 songs. Friendly crowd, good sound.
