Had a good time on sept 6, 2012 hosts are great musicians, easy to get to play with only about 6 players signed up. $2 Sol Mexican beers was a welcome site. The tough part is it's not easy to get attention with 20 TVs of sports to compete with. The place is massive with several rooms. I have a suggestion for making this better for drawing a larger variety of musicians and an audience that comes for the music first and foremost. Why don't they turn off the TVs in one small area of the bar? Is that blasphemy? Why can't the music take center stage for two hours one day a week? Also, it's hard to get a feel for how loud you are singing with all the noise. I tried not to yell the lyrics to my songs but I was not getting enough feel for volume from the monitors. I really loved the lead guitar the host lays down for my rhythym guitar… it was exactly the right amount of texture. Really enjoyed the horn players and especially Taylor Lamborn's originals songs. Please don't forget to leave comments about all your open mic experiences and add new open mics you find… it takes just a few seconds to make this a great resource for the traveling musician. Without fresh comments it's just a list of places you might find open mic.

? what kind of music do people usually play here? what do we need to bring with us? is there a PA system, or a piano, or any guitar amps?
