Just to update this venue, this is from the Harvest Cafe website:
EVERY Wednesday, 7:30-9:30pm: OPEN MIKE w/Joe Ferreira. Local Saxophone player, Joe Ferreira hosts this eclectic evening of music and spoken word.
Joe has been helping out with Open Mike for 2 Years. Come on down and share a song, a poem or play something for the always attentive and willing audience. Performers sign up after 7pm, bring your appetite and stay the evening. Bring your friends.
There is no cover, we do encourage donations to the basket for our host.

- New hosts Phil and Trisha Knudsen began last week - March 9, 2011. There will be a 66 key Kurzweil keyboard available for performers. We will normally be set up for acoustic guitars and voices but can accommodate other instruments to some extent. The open mike will now run from 7Pm to 10:30Pm and you can either sign up onsite, or before hand by emailing knudsenmusic@lyricguitar.net. Let us know when you think you're coming if you're going to be late and we'll put you later on the list. There's a great dinner menu and a full bar so come down early for dinner and stay!

Is there a piano available?

- This is a great open mic… enthusiastic supportive people with lots of original content. And it's held at a top notch establishment with a good beer selection and reasonable prices. I've played my share of bars, openers and open mics, and this is one of the most endearing groups I've come across. Thank you, I will be back again.

- Nice open mike at a comfortable, pleasant place with good food. The audience is mostly fellow performers, and boy are they supportive! So is Steve, the host.

Janet Beatrice (7/2008)
- This was a wonderful open mic experience, one of the friendliest we've encountered on our New England tour. The host Steve was laid back and welcoming. Karen, the owner, bent over backwards to help us find the place, local accomodations, etc. The place was filled on a July mid-week evening with a mixed crowd intent on listening - very attentive and encouraging, and there was a nice variety of acoustic folk, singer/songwriter, instrumental, and even our electro-acoustic/ambient sound fit in well. If you're hungry, get the Bento Box! Nice length of time for the open mic, as well - about 2 1/4 hours long, and simple sign-up -first come/first served around 7:30pm. Great job, Harvest Café!
