You're funny Paul. If that were the case I'd be a poor, poor man. We are just blessed with some of the best local talent and some of the most supportave local music scene in the lower great lakes area. But the main thing is the room. If you ever get a chance to head to northern Ohio Paul, swing on buy. We'd love to have you.

Starting to wonder if there's some sort of "free drink if you say something nice on openmikes.org" policy going on there.

If so, I'm 100% in favor of the plan.

This is an excellent venue. The acoustics are great, playing on an actual stage is a wonderful experience. The audience is attentive and supportive. Having the bar one floor down helps maintain focus. Dave Nicholson is a warm and supportive host who has the sign-up process down to a science.

I've been going to this open mic since they started it up a few months back and it almost instantly became one of my favorite ones to play! Lots of folks have commented on cool of a venue it is, and they are right - the sound is great and it's a lot of fun getting the chance to play on a bona fide stage. My favorite part is the people! Dave is an incredibly welcoming host, Karen is phenomenal, the rest of the staff there are as sweet as can be, the musicians put the music before the egos, and there is a great crowd of folks who actually come to listen. The music is center stage and appreciated - not just background noise. There's a steady group of regular performers, but every month there are more and more newcomers who always seem to delight and surprise. If you plan on coming down to play, my suggestion is to get there early. If you don't get a spot stay and enjoy the music and talk to some of the folks - I've seen a number of guest performers for folks' sets.
