Probably the best sound system for acoustic players, and the ambiance is just about perfect. Some great players are to be found there. Mark is a great host!

The open mic is every tuesday night. Sign up is at 8pm. There is a 2 song limit because the list has room for 18 to 21 acts. Often the list is filled by 8:30, sometimes not. Music starts at 9pm until 12:15. Once a month the show is in the main club BIG STAGE! Otherwise in the side bar.

Some very talented regulars here. Good place to play if you've got a little band along with you and if you don't have one, the regulars are willing to help you out. However, if you're playing alone, acoustic, ballads, etc., be prepared to have a room full of talking musicians with their backs turned to you. The emcee is a good guy and he tries to be supportive of everyone.

Heard good things about this one, and I mostly concur with the other postings here, BUT… only 2 songs allowed. If you have to travel a long way out to Berwyn, you may be like me and feel it's not quite worth it. The night I went in February '06 the emcee didn't really emcee, he just came by our seats and let us know we were next. Heavy smoking goes on, for those who may be sensitive to that. Otherwise… refer to the other comments here.

Fitzgerald's is my absolute favorite open mic. If you are a songwriter, there is an appreciative audience. Many artists perform covers, but there are quite a few writers that perform their own works, and that is what I want in an open mic. A place to reveal your latest creations to a listening and appreciative audience.
