Been to Fitzgerald's several times (great place), but never to open mic nite… Are "full bands" welcome?… And if so, does this serve as sort of an "audition night"?… Thanks… Dave

What about solo singers. My daughter doesn't have a band but she does a lot of karaoke stuff. She's gorgeous and very entertaining. She does some pop and Broadway. Would she be welcome at FitzGerald's?

This not karaoke night… But If a singer shows up with a portable cd player and has a couple of songs to sing.I could plug it into the P.A.and we will give your daughter a shot.Maybe she will meet another musician who could back her up.

Great room (side room), and Mark is a great host. I walked in, introduced myself and played with at least a half dozen musicians, including Mark.

Contrary to the "BRUTAL" note below, Mark started at the top of the list and walked down it through the night. Sure, there were a lot of regulars (that's what makes a crowd at a Tuesday night open mike, pal), but they got there really early to make it to the top of the list.

I was very impressed with the quality of musicianship, and the camaraderie at this open mike. Not often you see four people playing together, and all of them knowing exactly where the changes are.

Expect excellence, warmth and a very attentive (and a little raucous - hello Rudy!) crowd.

Great open mic! Some amazing talent amongst the regulars. Newcomers continue to impress. Once each month (usually the 2nd Tuesday) it's held in the main club, which is not to be missed. Fitz's club has the best PA system, the best sight lines, the best monitor system and the best pro sound man (Mike Sharp) you'll find anywhere. The Side Bar is much smaller with a more intimate atmosphere and a decent PA. Either is welcoming and a lot of fun.
