I'm 18 years old and have never done an Open Mic night before.

Do i need to be 21 to play at this one?

I played at this open mic 2 times so far, and plan to go back soon. The crowd at times can be careless about what you are doing. They mostly try to talk over the music. This is a good thing. It makes you work harder for their attention and have to be really good. The host Julia is awesome. More open mic hosts should use her technique of playing music in between set ups. I played heavy metal for the most part and got a good reaction. 3 songs or 15 mins is a better deal than most places give you.
