Alas, the owners of FIREWHEEL BOOKs & BEANs, Mike & Roya, are selling the shop and moving to Minnesota (family obligations for the most part). They will be sorely missed.

The new owners, the newly formed FIREWHEEL FOUNDATION will soon be taking-over later in January (2012). So, the absolute last Open Mic is expected to be Jan 28th… All their Open Mics MAY stay as part of the continuing community outreach of this new 501(c)3 organization, but [we] will need to update as soon as details are known.

2nd and LAST Friday nights 7 to 9:30… A nice place to gather and mix, find some good books, gaze at some cool art, enjoy some fine coffee & snacks -and to try a set on the beautiful bamboo stage at the Firewheel {oh, and they have WiFi*}. This venue is ASCAP licensed, so check ASCAP's seach engine beforehand (traditional and originals are always OK), but the owners >Mike & Roya< are very supportive and encourage folks to stretch-their-performance-wings, try out new material, keep it fresh, and grow with this new community of artists. Nice place; stop in! Poets and age-appropriate stand-up is very cool too.
