- The Open Mic has a new host and is regaining its mojo.

Went there for the 4th time last night. Pete's no longer running the Open Mike, it's now run by Allie, the bartender. She's really busy running the bar and sound and the list, so it'll start later than 9:00.
And, the talent was pretty slim. This event has lost its mojo.

Excellent night last night. Pete runs a really fun open mike and attracts REALLY talented musicians.
I recommend you stop by and give this one a try.

This was my first open mic. Decent crowd of about thirty people. There may had been more if it weren't for the Phillies game that night.
Peter runs the show and does a good job at it. It seems to me that his friends are the majority of the performers, and they are a mix of different skill levels anywhere from decent to excellent. Nobody sucked except some random guy, and after his first song, Peter kindly asked, "One more man?" and the sucky act replied "Nah, I got two more." People then proceeded to leave.
If you're on a schedule and you have to play and run, this probably isn't for you. I didn't even go on until thirty minutes after the time slot I signed up for. That put me behind, but no big deal.

If you're "like 30" then you should have your ID with you. It's part of being a grown-up. Better the bouncer sees you without your license than a cop pulling you over late at night.
Don't blame others for your own absent mindedness. He's just doing his job. Also, the word you were looking for is "they're" not "there."
