This is the best place to start as a stand up comedian. I've been coming here for a year, and it has helped me build up material for the comedy clubs I have done. Great diverse group of talent. Mike Cellemme is the best open MC out there.
Gustavo (5/2008): I was hoping a set a drums might be available. It was still worth the time. A very young, yet talented crowd of people. Some of the electronic stuff was a bit of a stretch, but anything can be musical. Even falling off a horse and breaking an eardrum. Don't miss it if you are around.

Clayton Willoughby (8/2007): I drove about 30 miles to check it out. When I saw the crowd, I kinda felt like I'd gotten on the wrong bus (I'm in my 50s - I don't think anyone in the place was over 30). To my surprise and delight, everyone there was very appreciative, and (dare I say) respectful. I'll be back. It was worth the drive, even with the tolls (I'd forgotten about that!). Kudos to all involved.
sandman (4/2007): Simply put: this open mike is great. VERY attentive crowd that is supportive to both veterans as well as newcomers. Lots of great talent of many kinds and a friendly staff. Mike Cellemme is hands down the best open-mike host I've ever encountered . A definite must-see in Newport.
