I always call open mics the day of because not all online listings are up-to-date. I called the EastSide and they said it was being held. I went to this “open mic” and asked the band for a slot to play. They said there was no sign up sheet but they’d call me up after finishing the set. Waited two hours and after asking a second time for a slot, I did not get an answer. This is a live band gig, definitely not an open mic. Would not recommend this to anyone, especially serious musicians. June, 2008
Michael (7/2008) Michael, I am sorry that you didn't get to play on that Thursday. I called you up very shortly after we spoke and you weren't there. There were several SERIOUS MUSICIANS there that night and the place was packed! Forgive my oversight. We try to make our open mic a little different than those who make you sign a list and get stuck on stage with whoever is signed up next to you. We try to run this like a bunch of friends hanging out and playing together. Once again, I am sorry you didn't get to play and I would like for you to come out again. Brian (7/2008): Great time at this venue! Acoustic acts & open jams. Brian & Jimmy put on a great show - followed by other artists. Then of course they always have a good open jam! First class food also.
