- Went by for my first time the other night. Steve is a great guy who runs a terrific establishment. It's a bar atmosphere like he says in the below comment but I had a great time and there are more people listening than you might think. Only suggestion for other performers is to come with an instrument that has a plug-in pickup. There is a guitar mic available but again, get a pickup. I know I will.

- The 'Chat' is a classic tavern with no pretensions. We have a variety of talents and styles performing on a regular basis, from folkies to rappers, some accomplished musicians and some just getting their chops. Most performers play some version of rock and roll. As the night progresses there are often spontaneous combinations of musicians who may have just met getting up for an encore. A community of musicians has formed in the short time this Open Mic has been going. Don't come expecting the crowd to sit quietly listening to your mellow love songs. But that doesn't mean you aren't welcome to perform them! You WILL play to a very supportive group. But like any bar, many of the patrons will enjoy the music without actually acknowledging it. Soloists and duos only are allowed due to licensing. A Bose L1 system, mics & stands are all available. No keyboard. Guitar is available for use if you haven't got yours.
