i've sang jazz professionally, am trying to get back into it, is open mike nite for singers also?

Not a open mic, at all, must be invited to play???!!! called place, speaker on phone claimed part owner, didn't know anything did not want to answer any questions. Must be the dudes hobby.I guess if your one of the boys your in.
