This place is awesome, a bunch of old guys, and some young! They are all talented and fun because it's the kind of music you would expect them to know. I try to go back every week just to watch because it's so fun! A very welcoming crowd, if you do well, they will praise you for it, a good confidence booster.

I've never been to a dive bar that is not creepy and I've been to a few, I think that is the nature of a dive bar and a given. But it's still better than most of the boring coffee houses.

sign up is at 8:30 and it starts at 9:00pm Its a later crowd that arrives about 10:00pm but if you want to hone your craft and get up early then 8:30 is the time to be there. The host is there and on time and if you can't locate him immediately then just ask the bartender and he will be glad to help you out. He plays guitar and sings also. It is a dive bar but a clean, friendly and comfortable one. All are welcome that includes comedians,poets etc.

How is the Open Mic coordinated? Do performers bring there own back up music? I play Jazz Chromatic Harmonica but usually just to a CD or my Itunes Library on my iPhone. Sorry but I've never played at an Open Mic. Just curious about taking my playing outside of my room or YouTube.
