Excellent outdoor patio vibe, great sound. Good variety of entertainment.

All ages, kinds and styles of performance. No covers (you must do something original), no foul language, no outside food/bev. I play there regularly and the crowd is always supportive of me as well as first timers.

Best entertainment value for the price of a beverage(foods great to).

I have seen/heard a lot of amazing people/performances there this summer :-)

Happy Trails… Dave

It really is a garden- an outdoor setting. Dress warmly, call in case of light rain. Take a blanket or two to share if you want to make friends.

This was an outstanding setting for me to do PG humor (as required- there was at least one child)

There were two other comics - very young beginners- and some music was excellent, plus some readings. No music was hip or heavy blues- more acoustic, song, blues

All were warmly received and supported by the audience. Because of the cold they came in and out, but there were at least 20 at any time, including performers. A dozen, mostly performers, were kind enough to stay for the last act- me- and respond generously and enthusiastically to my set.

The best thing about a music stage is that the time is more flexible, and the comedy is a welcome change of pace.

? I have a piece not written by me (about 5 minutes). It is called "First Time in Church" but is more of a piece about social awareness than anything super religious. I have performed it in various places with good response. Would it be possible to perform even though it is not original?

? I'm a black, 54 year old BBW who does stand up. I use adult language and incorporate sexual themes. Is that acceptable in your club? Also, I have problems with steps and need to be seated during my performance. Can you accommodate me? And what is the time limit?
reply to this comment
Thyria Jones (8/2009)
If you're a singer but you don't write your own music you can sing song written by someone else. Yet, do it in your own style, and don't too popular songs. That's my advise.

? This might be a stupid question, but I sing but don't write my own music, it's a little obscure but it's still not mine - can I cover someone else's music, sing a song by someone else? I'm -just- a singer, no band or anything. Would that be acceptable?

? Whats your crowd like? I would like to come down and perform my comedy routine, but I'm really very raw and I don't want to offend. I'm used to SF people, and that crowd could handle it, but I wonder about sac?? I am not a jerk either, but I do use profanity so just want to see your thoughts.
