I've never seen out-of-town or new people get snubbed. If anything, they're more welcomed than others. You do need to show up early to be guaranteed a spot, though - it's a popular open mic and often fills up before it starts (both slots and seats).
another regular performer (6/2005): Be prepared to feel out of place. If you aren't one of the regulars playing every friday then people (including the owners) might turn their noses up at you.
(2/2005): Coffee Amici hosts open mic EVERY Friday evening from 8 - 10 p.m. featuring music. All music styles are welcome. See Craig when you arrive to be placed in the evening's "line up".
Lynne (10/2004): I have been playing at amici's open mic for the last 2 years and they always seem to be very welcoming to out-of-town performers. All the other musicians are very helpful as well, I've let people borrow my gear, and I've backed up a person or two. You might want to get there a little early though, the place fills up quickly.
