A cool setting but it is run pretty bad. The host gets wasted later and loses track of his assignment. It does draw an alternative crowd. So So musicians at best. Sound really needs to have someone pay better attention. It could be MUCH better.

I Play Acoustic Guitar, and it has Never been a Problem with the Crowd. We do Ask that you have Your instrument Tuned, and be ready to play when your turn is Called. Most nights we Have over 20 performers… So we can only allot 3 songs or 15 Minutes of Stage Time. If you are not in the Café when your turn is Called… we will have to Skip Over you… But you haven't Been taken off The List… just moved down to the end… as is only fair for the Musician's who Stay the entire evening to play.

Hi… I'm Kenii the Saturday Host at the Chocolate Moose. The Owners have Worked very hard to create a haven for Local artists to perform. They have invited me to Host because i am a huge advocate of live Music. I've been Signed with both Music Specialists and BMG… Toured nationally and have Been featured on Many recordings that have Charted. The Band I perform with are some of the most talented hard working individuals in South Florida and I thank them for letting me be a part of a wonderful musical Experience. This is a very Gay Friendly open Mic! The host is kind of annoying & can be very rude at times. Also I noticed he hogs the stage! His band is average & the acts are very beginner like! I guess that’s what to expect considering any good musicians are working on a Saturday night!

Maybe you shouldn't come back. Gay, straight, black, white, male, female and all in between are welcome to play, listen and appreciate local talent at one of the best cafés in South Florida.

The "Gay Friendly" comment, Hmmmmmm I believe there is a name for people like you. Musicians are all musicians and appreciate each other for their talents. However I guess you are not a musician to make comments like this or no good as you would have been working on Saurday night and not at the Moose eh! Get a clue buddy!

Not recommended for the acoustic musician. no audience etiquette - they just want background music. Host condescending and unhelpful.

Working faces wouldnt change places with anyone. They reveal, its the real deal for acoustic fun. World class beer , only the finest wine. Delicious food looks and taste great everytime. For good times ill sing and play my guitar like I wanted all day. At the chocolate moose… Café
