- Chris is a great host, and the owners have many friends. A house drum kit and bass rig are ready. Some sit in with others, like any open mic… it all depends on the night and the players.

Is there a house band? As a violinist, can I sit in with other acts?

- This place is great. The venue is very charming in its appearance. The stage is really unique, and the sound guys do a KNOCKOUT job in making things sound good. Tonight was my first night and Morgan was the substitute host. Transitions between groups went very smoothly, and though the audience consisted mostly of performers, everyone gave each other their full attention, something that's rare in open mics I've been to. The people are friendly and supportive, and the quality of performers that range from musicians to poets to comedians were great. The featured band of the night was quality. Just as a heads up, there's a $3 cover for performers and $4 cover for audience members.

- Of the dozen or so venues I have pkayed at in the Chester/Montgomery area, Chaplins is hands down the best. James and Liam do a great job with the sound and setting. Jesse is a monster in the kitchen, whippin' things up. For the most part many of the performers are there to LISTEN. A rarity for sure. No open mike on Super Bowl Sunday as there is a show. Check the website .
