This open Mic night happens to be one of the most interesting ones that I choose to PLAY

I like the SMOKE THAT have ruined my instruments and I did learn that when you curse you should use those words with the utmost respect.

Any one can curse but can you play!!

Phil Stahl is a AWESOME GUITARIST

he does a great job hosting this

If you feel you can express yourself with some type of entertainment I know you will LOVE THIS PLACE

I don’t know who anoymous is, but apparently does not frequent a lot of open mics or just goes to focus on what he feels is so negative about open mics. Having been a regular at this and many open mics in the area, I find this one to be one of the better run open Mics. Phil runs the fairest ones around. No lotteries, no one can call in advance to get on schedule in front of anyone else, and everyone gets the same amount of songs, usually around 4, depending on the size of the list. Although he has at times allowed a new person an extra song to possibly encourage them to attend again. With no complaining from the usual suspects. And everyone gets to play. It appears to me that you were late getting there, based on the fact that you complained of the kitchen closing at 10:00 and hinting that you had to wait a while to play.

Resenting the fact that some players do not play the type of music you care for or may possibly be offended by, is somewhat a display of parochial thinking which defeats the purpose of open mics as a diverse outlet for all kinds of music. From the fiery young anarchist to the wanna be hippies and their flowery we can change the world rhetoric.

I would hope someday you would view all open mics for what they are. A place to play your music to people who may not have had the chance to here you, to present your views constructively, to network with other musicians, and to help make a local music scene for all that wish to join in.

I wish people smoked only at the bar section. Smoke is bad for musicians during performance, worse for the instruments, amps , microphones and speakers. Oh there's one other glitch, the open mic never starts on time and rules are constantly broken. Buddies of Phil get to play 2-3 songs more than others. Long wait for someone who is ready to do 3 songs and has to wait extra time. The kitchen closes at 10.00 pm. If you're late, you'd be drinking on empty stomach. And, the most resentful thing about this open mic- hateful slur, foul language and some other stuff you don't want to go into- a new definition of freedom of speech and I am sure Phil could not disagree more. I admire Phil for what he stands for and his creative music.

this is by far the best open mic in the area. phil stahl is the man. some really really talented regulars are often there. stop in!
