My first time here was no disappointment. Lou was a friendly and welcoming host - I do wish he'd played a few songs before I had to leave - next time I'll lean on him. Paul Jarg got the party started and hearing him again only made me appreciate his music more. I played second and thoroughly enjoyed the experience - nice acoustics in this place, and the top of the line powered speakers, EAW I think, coupled with Lou's Behringer mixer and his attentive tweaking of it for each performer made for very nice sound.

Next in line was Emily Kate with three very good originals, a surprisingly confident and charming stage presence - she's young, pretty, great originals with a hip young attitude, and nice subtle vibrato inflection. She could go somewhere! I took her card- check out her youtube.com/emilykatemusic

Next was Doug Flor - again great originals and a very entertaining performance. Nice easy dance moves well integrated with the performance. This is the second time I've heard Doug - nice guy, great musician.

This place is great, really comfortable seating and a dance floor that would be a great asset to a group with dance music and a few groupies. Food's good and very reasonable. The bar lady, I'll get her name next time, was funny and nice. 68 years old, and she checked my ID and put on a plastic bracelet. Come for the entertainment, and to play, it's a find (I've played maybe 20 venues so I have a point of reference. I enjoy the open mic night because I never know what kind of music I will hear. It could be cover songs or originals and I enjoy the variety of styles brought by the performers. Singing and playing each week gives me a way to continuously improve and I get good feedback from the participants.

Lou is a fantastic host and very helpful. Ths is an excellent place for anyone that is just beginning to perform. Great sound system too.
