Wow the weekly jam session(now moving to the last Sunday of each month for the winter schedule) came to a close with Dave Engal taking the house band through a shindig of tunes by The Byrds. Dave even brought out his classic Rickenbacker 12 string for the way back sound. A number of super guitarists including, Peter Miles, Jerry Hobson, and Sean Donovan provided a wide range of genres from jazz to honkytonk. As soon as I can figure out the tech of changing the jam listings I will. Till then "Pepper's Jam Session" as it is now called will be the following dates: 11/30,12/28,01/25/09,02/22/09,03/29/09,04/26/09. Then back to our weekly schedule in May of 2009. Thanks to Bray's and all who have supported us the past six months of year 5 of this jam. It was another great ride with house band guys Jerry Smith and Krister Rollins. Keep rockin'

Pepper's Open Mic and Jam Session at Bray's is cancelled tonight 10/19 so Bray's can provide entertainment for the Red Sox game 7 ACLS on their big screen TV. Bray's has a fun sports bar atomsphere for these kind of games so it's still a good reason to visit Bray's and have some good eats, brews and fun times. CU next Sunday 10/26

The long and wonderful stretch of Sunday eve jams continues this season till the end of this month. Then "Pepper's Jam Session" will go to its winter format with Bray's hosting this jam the last Sunday of each month until when May 2009 rolls around. I will post those dates early November. But hey, last night's jam featured the talented young man from Auburn, Maine Zack Pomerleau. The holiday weekend crowd enjoyed Zack's harp and singing. Also with us last night was harp player Waterford Slim. The last set featured Ken from Denmark taking the house band, (with special guest on piano Merrill Rollins), through a few hit songs from the radio waves of the 1970's. Cu next Sunday 10/19 and the 26th. 8PM start.

We had some great sets this past Sunday eve (10/5) starting with the dynamic guitar work of Vermonter Adam McMahon. Lots of T-Bone Walker riffs by that talented young man. Another visit by Peter Miles who is becoming very popular at the jam session. Peter has a collection of those familar pop/radio tunes that the audience enjoys and dances to. Visits by Ken from Denmark, Maine and usual contributions by the house band made for a fun night. CU next Sunday as that a will surely be busy Columbus Day vacation weekend in the beautiful Naples, Maine area. Bray's as always will be ready with great food/brew and its friendly staff.

Highlights included Bill Rollins' rag time/stride piano set with his brother Merrill on guitar, his son Krister on bass and myself on snare/woodblock. A warm applause by a friendly crowd to Bill and his nifty vintage sound. Cu next Sunday @ Bray's 10/5 at 8PM
